Sonoma Ranch Golf Course-Award winning golf on rolling bluegrass fairways and billowing greens meandering through the sun drenched desert, make Sonoma Ranch Golf Course a spectacular place to play. It its opening year, 2000, the course won a Best New Course nomination from Golf Digest. Designed by Cal Olsen, the course is a longish course with rolling hills, strewn with bunkers. With five tee boxes, it offers a stimulating challenge for all levels of golfer.
New Mexico State University Golf Course- was designed by Floyd Farley, highlighted by beautiful scenery and is regarded as one of he most outstanding golf facilities in the Southwest. Measuring over 7000 yards from the "Aggie Tees," the golf course provides a challenge to golfers of all skill levels with a wonderful array of holes ranging in difficulty from the very challenging to those that provide good birdie opportunities. This is a great day trip from Hotel Encanto where visitors can get out and explore the beautiful sparkling white sand dunes and even experience magical moonlight filled evenings under the stars. The park will stay open late till 11pm for visitors and they have a Sunset Stroll Nature Walk at 7 pm, and an Evening Program given at 8:30 p.m. at the amphitheater at the end of the Dunes Drive. Park Fees are $3.00 per person ages 17 and over. Ranger-guided trips to Lake Lucero, the source of the white sands, are also held regularly.
